Im Planting yellow onions, do they flower when they grow?

Read the bottom paragraph of the link below...You do not pick onions untill they have flowered, then the top of them fall over and go brown or dried out on you..The green top starts dying off and when it falls over cuts the water off to the top so the onion below can cure and grow some more..once the onion top has completely dried they are ready to pick...they will not be inedible as suggested here,....

Reply:ALL ONOINS AND GARLIC WILL FLOWER--WHEN THEY REACH MATURITY- AND BEFORE THEY GO TO SEED--WHICH WILL BE BOUT 60 T0 90 DAYS AFTER THEY ARE PLANTED-- WHEN LEFT TO GO TO SEED THEY BECOME UNEATABLE
