If you have a horse that has a piece of that little yellow flower that grows in most fields.?

How do you get it out??

If you have a horse that has a piece of that little yellow flower that grows in most fields.?
Be very careful, raise the eye slowly not to spook the horse, I use bottled saline water to flush their eyes, and my vet said that is good to get things to flush out with..

it will not hurt the horses eye at all.

if the little flower is close to middle of the eye, just slowly try to get it out with your fingers if possible, if not flush the eye.
Reply:Wash it out with plenty of cool, salt water. If it is butter cups then all well and good, but if you suspect it is, or might be ragwort, I would ask your vet if he could check whether he needs special treatments for that. Ragwort is extremely poisonous, but more so when the grazing is not so good and the plant is dead or dying.

If it is ragwort, you will need specialist help and meticulous picking up of dead plants, roots and all.
Reply:It should work its way out naturally, if not you should call a vet. Don't mess with the eye yourself you may do more damage than good
Reply:Do not ever dig about with eyes. The horses own tear ducks will deal with it.

Its buttercups.
Reply:do you mean buttercups or dandylions? Well either way, it will work itself out, like everyone else said =]
