Can the Anacyclus perennial come in yellow? If not what do you think I have?

The description in The Sunset Western Garden book sounds like this flower but it says it is white. This is bright yellow with yellow middle and yellow on the reverse. The leaves are grey green wispy and finely divided. It is growing in my border garden at 9,000 feet in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. I bought these plants at a nursery and cannot find them again.

Definitely. The Anacyclus can be white, yellow or even occasionally light blue. I've found the Sunset Western to be a bit confusing myself. Enjoy your flower!
