I have an orchid plant and the flowers are gone, can it be saved if the plant leaves are still green?

One flower stem is yellow, the other is green (only came with two stems) and the plant leaves at the base of the plant are really green and look really alive - will it still bloom?

An orchid only blooms 6 months our of a year. Make sure it gets a lot of filtered sunlight on the leaves. Hope this website helps you out. Good luck. Also try google and ask.com.
Reply:Under the right conditions it will bloom every year.
Reply:Sure - it will bloom again.

You need to identify what kind of plant it is and then take proper care.

See source for orchid information.
Reply:The stems (where the flowers were attached) will dry up and die and eventually fall off. The rest of the plant will continue to survive and look healthy. Orchids seem to do the best with "gentle negect." This is to say, only water them about every 5-7 days (depending on how hot your house is) and make sure the water drains out through the bark (no standing water in the bottom of the pot) They prefer being in a mostly sunny window and getting about 6-8 hours of sun per day. Mine are in a south facing window and they LOVE it. Dont move them around too much and be gentle when handling them... they will come back at least once per year, and twice a year if conditions are just right.
