Go to your local store and buy WEED BE GONE concentrate. This is made to be put into a garden hose sprayer. Use a spray bottle from Windex or something and mix up a batch.

Follow the instructions on the container, except. If you are supposed to use one ounce per gallon, double it. Put this solution into your spray bottle and get to work. Spray each plant with two shots. This takes time and effort, but it works.
Reply:Aren't they beautiful! We have a bounty-crop this season! I just love them. Why people kill them is beyond me...but, if that's what you want to do--kill your dandelions, then you either call a local turf maintenance company to spray your lawn or do it yourself. The chemical you need is "Trimec." It is a restricted use herbicide, however. Read and follow all label instructions. And keep your pets and children off your lawn for 24 hours after applying.
Reply:it does sound like simple dandy lions.

the best organic way to rid yourself of this scourge is to pull off the yellow tops every day all summer long and once a week dig them out to the bottom of their nasty little roots. this will be ongoing for as long as it takes.

somethings to know about these plants.

1. ) pick the larger leaves wash them and serve them in salad, they are full of vitamins. the roots can be made into tea ( i think it aids in digestion ).

2. ) these plants are not native to north america.

Reply:they are dandelions---it means nail of the earth. when you pull them out--if you can, their roots look like a nail. there is lots of stuff on the market--you could try weed %26amp; feed--it works pretty good. there is a company in this town called eco-green--they come %26amp; spray your lawn for weeds %26amp; spray fertilizer--a little pricey but not too bad. their product is phosphate free. maybe you have similar weed control companies in your area
Reply:you have either buttercups or dandelions. butter cups should die off soon. dandelions keep coming back. (groundsel also looks just like dandelion, but grows close to the ground.) both can probably be treated with a weed killer like weed 'n feed.
Reply:Yellow flowers.. Dandelions? Buttercups?
Reply:DANDILIONS. Check with you local garden center. They will recommmend the proper weed killer
Reply:Dandelions. Rejoice! They are good eating, and make a mighty fine wine.Better than just plain old green . EH!
